My latest article just came out in the Human Resource Development Quarterly (HRDQ) [Winter 2007, Volume 18, Issue 4]. HRDQ is the research journal of the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD); the premiere scholar association in the HRD field. My editorial is entitled Is HRD Research Making a Difference in Practice? which I co-wrote with Jeffrey Keefer.
The dialogue regarding linkages between research and practice is a very important discussion to have. We believe that scholar-practitioners' value is vital to any organisation so that decisions and processes are more than simply the best practices of today that a manager follow as its de riguer but true leader-manager/scholar-practitioners use sound research built upon applicable theory.
