Liveblogging @ Moosecamp

bloggable.jpg I'm co-facilitating a session at Moosecamp (the Northern Voice unconference) on the topic of liveblogging in Vancouver next month. [You're welcome to join if you happen to be in the area]. I am posting this info here because liveblogging and live microblogging, like most social media tools, methods, and models, is here to stay and having an understanding of what it is can be particularly useful for your business.

An example is Twitter messaging (click my Twits) where you could get messages (on your mobile if you prefer, which you can coincidentally do as well with my blog posts by clicking on the buzmob link on your right) as they are happening (at a conference you may have missed for example or an natural disaster that would affect your business' supply chain). Information gathered here from Twitter member data miners can prove to be a competitive advantage with a bit of analysis and critical thinking. It's also a great social networking tool as you get to know who the players are across industries that you may not necessarily connect immediately in a normal F2F networking event for many reasons (shyness, crowds) that can be easily overcome in an online format.

If you're part of the liveblogging community, try it and let me know if it works for you and how you are using it at work or for personal development.
